The Way will be in America in October and their new poster

Time of past OR future Camino
2006 to date: Over 21 Caminos. See signature line
Got a note that The Way will be released in America in October.
They also sent me a copy of their American poster.
In my opinion, it's horrible!
Here is a link if you want to look for yourself.
The feedback hasn't been exactly supportive of this strange, ugly poster which has absolutely nothing to do with the Camino, imo, but maybe I just haven't had enough coffee yet this morning. :?

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
"They" test things like this on audiences. The tastelessness of the poster does not speak well of the U.S. audience!!! Maybe if they had incorporated some of Charlie Sheen's "goddesses," they could have made it even more tasteless.

Annie, I don't think coffee (even con leche) would help. I would think that the movie was some outdoor buddy comedy if I didn't know better. And the arrow is pointing in the wrong direction! Too bad.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
My gracious; who on earth approved that poster??? Someone needs to beat the group over the head before that start printing those things. Just use the original poster and be amazed at how well it will be received.

Good taste is just not an inherent gift for some people. It is either that, or someone is making decisions while under the influence of some some very bad, chemicals. Note to Hollywood brain; it is time to begin living a more wholesome life.

I posted my views on the FB site. The poster in no way matches up with the remarkable trailer I've been passing around to all my family & friends (all positive feedback, btw--very very rare to see that).

There's no reason they had to use a US road sign with the arrow pointing in the wrong direction instead of the yellow shell/arrow on blue that we all know & love so well.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
The Poster does not reflect the Camino. I am surprised that someone who has walked the Camino would have approved of this selection. That said, my opinion is only one of many. My hope is it will change prior to the movies release.

The cover/first page image on the official website of "The Way" movie is absolutely GORGEOUS! It captures the mystery, spirituality, adventure sense of El Camino.

Check it out at: http://theway-themovie.com.

This should be the NorthAmerican movie release poster. Tell Emilio at: http://theway-themovie.com/#/Contact

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Although not a fan of the new poster, I can see why the marketing people chose it. Before I saw the film, all I knew was that it was about a man who carries his son's ashes along the camino. Due to the subject matter, i expected it to be sad, gloomy, etc. however, there are many light/funny moments in the film...more than I expected. I can see that they might want to promote the film as something other than a downer---I can see that the film would/should be marketed to the general public and not necessarily to experienced pilgrims.
