Does anyone know if there’s a direct bus from Lucca to San Miniato? Or is the best option to take the train from Lucca to San Miniato Basso-Fucecchio via Pisa and then bus to San Miniato Alto? Thanks!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

If you take the train, the station is a mile or so from SM Basso. You take a bus into town. Then there is another bus which takes you to SM Alto as the streets are too narrow for the first bus. The train route also means a change at Pisa so depending on your time, the train gives you an opportunity to see another historic town.

Anyone walked south from Rome? This looks so interesting and in the south I know that it is less costly.
