I am starting my second Camino onSept. 4
This time I am taking my sister. We are both over 60 and excited to have this adventure. With only 2 weeks to hike, I have been researching the best way to get back to Biarritz. Does anyone have experience in this?
I'm thinking we will end in Santo Domingo de la Calzada. So far, it seems very complicated and has lead me to consider renting a car. I am from the USA and would appreciate some input.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
If you rent a car in Spain the drop-off charges in France are a rip-off. Plan to drop it off in Irun to save money.

You’ll want to get to San Sebastián. From there it’s an easy bus ride across the border to Biarritz.

When I did it I met a quartet of Americans en route to Lourdes who had dropped off their Spanish rental car and were busing to France to pick up another car. They were four and, I’m pretty sure, fairly well off. But they thought the charge for international drop off was prohibitive.

I just looked yesterday for the rental car option. From Santiago airport to San Sebastián/IRUN airport is around 100 US for the day. If you drop it off in Biarritz you add another 900 US. The train from the airport to Biarritz is very close.
