Transportation to Sarria and luggage

Greetings from Nashville, TN. A few of my siblings and I are about to walk Sarria to Santiago. I have a few quick questions I hope that one of you can lead me in the right direction. #1. Is it fairly easy to get a taxi to Sarria from the Santiago airport? We land around 5pm and I don't think a bus sounds like the best idea. Should we reserve a transportation service or can you walk out of the airport and get one easily? #2. Some of us are carrying a backpack with no luggage transfer, but our sister would like to transfer her luggage to each stop. Is there any easy way to do this that is reliable? Again, do we book this ahead of time or just wing it when we are there?

Oh, and we need a fun shell for our backpacks! Places to buy there or get ahead of time? I'm sort of spearheading this adventure, so help me look like I know what I'm doing even though I don't have a clue.

Thanks in advance!!
Such a novice!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
How many of you are there? Will you fit in one taxi or do you need a taxi van? There are taxi's at the airport, but Sarria is a long distance by cab (90 minutes or so). Here is one service.

If one of you is transferring luggage, you cannot "wing it" as you need to tell the transfer service where to deliver the bag each day. There are several services. Correos is one run by the postal service that many people use. There is an English drop down.

There are plenty of places to buy a shell is Sarria and along the way.
