Hi all,

My return flight to Australia departs from Paris in early August , I am open to suggestions on the most economical route and travel method to get there, travel time is not an issue, I just want to have a safety margin just in case, to arrange alternate travel means should there be a strike, bankrupt airline etc. unfortunately Ryanair doesn't fly to Paris from Santiago :(

I look forward to hearing your suggestions.

Thanks

Frank

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
There are direct flights to Paris almost every day. I bought my ticket already for October 23 and paid 90$. Did the same in 2011. It's quick and not as tiring as the bus or train. I got to Paris at 7:30pm, took the shuttle to F1 hotel (30$), had dinner and a good sleep. The free shuttle brought me back to my flight the next morning.

Yep, check Vueling airlines. Buen Camino!

Great, I will check them out, $90is very good, the train would cost much more

I Checked out vueling online booking web page, there are no flights from Santiago to Paris :(

I will search for airlines that do fly there, the main ones prices are almost the same as my fare from Australia to Paris :(

In Oct 2011 I flew Vueling from Santiago to Paris and I remember that they don't go everyday, maybe 2 or 3 times a week, back then anyway. So try different days of the week.

Which shuttle is that? We had heard there was one, but when we stayed at F1 they ignored our email inquiries about a shuttle and so we ended up taking the train/metro. Would love the details for next time.

Re: Travel Santiago to Paris

There are daily flights by Vueling from Santiago to Paris, you have to tweak their website to get the fare and travel time. The flight goes to Orly and I think flights to Australia starts from CDG. See below part of the Vueling website I copied as I will be traveling Santiago to Paris for sight-seeing, then to London to meet friends and then catch the flight back to Christchurch in July.

I'm pretty sure Vueling does fly from Santiago to Paris because I just booked my flights for May. Maybe check which airport in Paris you were selecting - we fly Santiago (SCQ) to Charles de Gaulle (CDG)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thank you to everyone who has offered assistance, your efforts to assist have been helpful and are very much appreciated.

my problem was that I tried the vueling web site , Paris was not on their drop down destinations, I played with dates but had no joy, I finally tried some of the online air travel sites and found the flights to Paris, I finally booked using eDreams , $170 with checked bag, my backpack is too close to the carry-on baggage dimensions so rather than pay the penalty if forced to check my backpack on the day I opted to include it in my fare, at least I can take my hiking poles back home :)

Regards

Frank

Re: Travel Santiago to Paris

Try Skyscanner I found it to be rally helpful and made ll my airline bookings from Australia to Paris and then Santiago d Compostela to Paris. Easy, simple and gave me options for booking with other agents.

Re: Travel Santiago to Paris

I just made a reservation on Vueling last night from Santiago de Compostela to Paris (CDG). The cheapest fare was 89 Euros. We are flying to Paris in late July. I used the Vueling website.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Was that with checked bags? And did hat include the credit card surcharge.? Otherwise a vey good price I couldn't access the destination option for Paris when I used their web page.

We actually went with the mid-level fare of 115 € as we could check two bags and select seats. When I booked the tix Paris came up as one of the few automatic choices at the top.
