Two weeks in May

I've been thinking of doing Camino for a while but a "window" might have opened up...

I may get two weeks in early May free, and am asking for advice on route and where to start.

I'm reasonably fit & walk, but am not an uber-experienced long distance hiker: I want the challenged but do not want to push things t-o-o-o hard.

Would CdF be too crowded then? Where is a good place to start?
How easy would it be to get to Astorga? Or Leon would be easy travel and a more natural "starting city" - but is that too far?

Alternatively, if I were to do something less developed is Primitivo do-able in two weeks? That time of year the weather should be lovely though and it would be nice to do a whole route instead of joining half-way along.

You can get to either Leon or Astorga easily. There should not be a bed race in May.

From Leon is a solid fourteen days. From Astorga it is an easy fourteen days.

Yes, from Leon is possible if you have 2 full weeks walking (not including travel time). You could alternatively walk the Camino Ingles from Ferrol and the Camino Finisterre to Muxia so you can do 2 full Caminos in 2 weeks. Bargain! Take your pick!

Allow a bit of time back in Santiago to do the pilgrim rituals and buy presents etc. I love sitting in the square outside the cathedral and seeing pilgrims arrive, hug, sob, kiss, take photos...
