A friend who arrived in Madrid yesterday said that it was really hot - 30 - 35oC.

The hospitalero in Grañon posted this on Facebook:
"we are still fighting today a lot heat in grañón are expected to reach 40 degrees pilgrims suffering the heats and the House of smiles looking forward to help them as much as possible."

Take care, walk slowly, keep the sun off your face, use sunscreen and hydrate frequently.

My wife posted on her blog about an hour ago that it's 36 Celcius at Lubian which is on the Via de la Plata/Sanabres route. The forecast is for it to get hotter by Friday and then some cooler air coming in.

Thankfully she has a wide brimmed straw hat which, she says, is making a huge difference by keeping the sun off and letting some heat out. However, it was very cold this morning and she's wishing she had her gloves with her now but they were left at home as part of the weight saving process!

Even though it's hot I wish I was there!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Andrew - suggest that she wear spare socks on her hands. They work just like mittens!

Thanks Sillydoll.

I think Alipilgrim has commented the same on Rachels blog.

I'm feeling guilty as I'm pretty sure it was me that suggested she might not need gloves or a thick buff (she does have one of Beverley's Camino buffs though).
