What are the thoughts on walking the Via de la Plata in May and June (i.e. from Sevilla to Santiago). Seems like there is a lot of people thinking of doing Sept to Oct but what about the late Spring early Summer? My thought was that May should be too bad on the first leg and by the time June arrives your into northern Spain (hot but not too hot)?

I walked the VdlP last year in October and started in an unusually hot spell with a few days where temperatures went up well over 30C. 35C on at least one day. Not great for a cold-blooded Scot. As today's record-breaking temperatures here in the UK show you can have unpredictable blips in temperature almost any time. I just looked at the averages for Sevilla in May on weatherspark.com. May starts with daily highs averaging 25C and that climbs to 30C by the end of the month. Sounds manageable to me but at the top end of my comfort range. But freak conditions may bump that up higher. No way to predict that till nearer the time.

Hi.
Today’s temperature 29C, where it will be in a month or so?
Regards
George

I think I’m on day 12, so not quite two weeks in. Thus far the VDLP is definitely a different animal than the CF. And I have to say, I’m struggling to enjoy it as much as the CF last year. I...
