Hola amigos

My wife and I are now on Day 3 of the VDLP. We "survived" the big walk from
Castilblanco de los Arroyos to Almadén de la Plata today - actually it wasn't as hard as we had anticipated.

I'm writing a daily blog and here's today's offering - https://www.an-impossible-dream.com/post/day-3-under-the-andalusian-sun.

Please feel free to follow, comment and ask questions.

Looking forward to interacting with you over the next 8 weeks or so.

Buen camino, Pedro y Juana.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Have bookmarked your blog.
Buen Camino!

I took a cab to the entrance of the park rather than walk along that road, which would not have been pleasant. The park was wonderful. I walked with a couple of Koreans, one of whom spoke Japanese, which I learned after living in Japan for a few years. How did you cope with that insane hill at the end?

I'll be curious to hear about your sleeping accommodations as you approach Merida. I found them pretty scant. When I return, maybe I'll start from Salamanca. Those are long, lonely days on the VLDP.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Terrific blog @thepacman - thanks for sharing it here on the Forum. I’ll be following your journey.

Is the new path you mentioned going up the killer hill just before Almaden? I hope so! Last year I had to drag myself up that hill hanging on to the bushes for dear life as I had my hiking trailer Spot with me. What a gradient! In the absence of a medicinal brandy I had to calm myself down with an emergency Mars bar at the top!

Best wishes to you and MrsP for a fantastic VDLP camino.

Cheers from Sydney -

Jenny
