Camino Frances (2013)
Hi, Can anyone who has walked the Camino Frances Mid July to end August, give me info on what to expect with regard to heat and walking, how often accommodation was booked out, crowdedness of the trail and its tranquility, and any other relevant info. This seems like the only possible time I will be able to do the walk as I am in Europe for the first half of July, and returning to New Zealand early September. Advice much appreciated.

I began last year 2012 in St Jean on July 23 and walked through August. I only ran in to one albergue that was full, but there was another one open close by. Other than that, there was always a bed for me when I stopped. In a couple of places there were only a few of us in the albergue.

As to weather, that will vary from year to year, but when I walked it was only hot a few days in the middle. The beginning and end were cool morning and pleasant afternoons. But I must qualify this by telling you I am from Southern California and love hot weather.
