Buying Meindl boots along the Camino?

CF 2018
Hi - I have a pair of Meindl boots that have life in them yet - they did half the Camino Frances from Fromista in 2019. I don’t need to replace them yet.

But I’m wondering if I could get Meindl boots in a city s along the CF if I needed to when walking the whole thing this year? (I can wear these straight out of the box with no need for breaking in…. )

Does anyone know if Meindl are sold in Spain? 🙏🤔😊

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Pardon my interfering: before you invest, can you take your boots to an outdoor shop where the assistants know what they are talking about, and ask for their opniion on the life left in them, telling them what you propose to do? I have been wearing Meindl boots and shoes since 2006 - at home as well as on camino. I usually take advice re when it is time to change them. I trust the sales assistants.
edit: maybe you know, yourself! Then you don't need to waste time going to an outdoor shop...

Hi Shazenalan,

In Decathlon you can find Meindl boots, but I don´t know if boots are the best for CF and you.

Ultreia!

Oh yes they are! Especially if they are MEINDL! I wear them :) My favourite shop can do a refurbishment by sending them off to MEINDL. Cost me half the price of a new pair and they are good for another few years.

Buen camino

Samarkand. :)

I have just put mine in to a local cobbler in Valencia for new vibram soles in preparation for the Levante which I start in May. I had the whole sole replaced in the UK with a specialist repair company using original meindl parts but they seemed to wear very rapidly. The vibrant seem to last longer. I will continue to do this as long as the uppers are in good enough condition. Horses for courses I know, but for me, these are the most comfortable walking boots

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Meindl will replace the soles on your boots for 90€.
I love, love, love my Meindl boots and wear them all year long, but get a new pair for each Camino. I have Meindl shoes and trail runners, which are nice, but they aren't for me on the Camino.

I had no idea you could get them resoled. Thanks for that info!

Having looked online - a new pair is £160 here in the UK - and they have altered the lacing so its not as good - I like a surgeons knot one hook down to keep my heel in the right place. Having them resoled could be a better plan. I will enquire…. Thanks 👍

Time to tell an old story. In the days of needing to find wifi in albergues - well, maybe not really needing! - in 2006 one fine day in Castilla and Leon I sat down and wrote a story to someone in Meindl in Germany. My story went thus: I would like to let you know that I have walked 500km in my Meindl shoes. ( I was including my 150km practice walks). I now have a big blister on my right heel, because of a hole that has appeared in my shoe that has rubbed my heel. I am very disappointed... and so on and so forth. I ended by saying that I would contact them at the end of my Camino. When I got home I went to the shop where I had bought them. "Not our problem". So, I set about contacting Meindl again. I was invited to send my shoes to an address in either Wales or England. They inspected my shoes. In a very short period of time I received a brand new pair of same shoes. That is what I call good customer relations. In fact, since then, I prefer wearing my boots when on camino. Even in the height of summer. I wear them also in the winter at home. The shoes get dusted off for shoulder seasons. The sandals I love are not easily found here, Teva. So I recently moved allegiance to Merrell sandals.
I realise this is all a story that has nothing to do with the original question, so if my post disappears, never mind. Small thing in the wider scheme of things... 👣

I too love great customer service - on my first half of the CF my Osprey rucksack developed a rather irritating squeek - luckily my husband is not sound sensitive - had it been the other way round Im not certain I’d have been as patient. 💕 Anyhow - I contacted Osprey at home and they replaced it no questions asked. 👏👏👏👍 i think I will give Meindl the chance to restore my boots as efficiently. 👍🤞😊
