Help - need a plug adaptor

trafferty

I believe I'm ready for another adventure!
Time of past OR future Camino
june (2016)
I just discovered I left my outlet adapter in the last hotel I stayed at. I will be in hornillos tomorrow. Can anyone tell me the closest place I will be able to get one and where to look for one?

Probably you can find one in Castrojeriz. At the western end of the town near the albergue San Esteban on the Plaza Mayor is an old fashioned camping/hiking/hunting goods shop, Bazar el Peregrino, which caters to passing pilgrims. They should have one. The term for a plug adaptor in Spanish is
adaptador de enchufe.

Good luck and Buen camino!

There is a small shop I remember in Hornillos that seemed to have pilgrim items. Can't remember exactly where it was though.
In Castorjiz , after Hornillos, I saw a shop called (Bazzar Perigrino) or such like. Not sure if it is still there but I' m sure I saw some smiling pilgrims coming out of it as I passed, if indeed it was in Castorjiz.
Sorry, that's all I can remember.
Have you thought about asking other Pilgrims to share?
Buen (adaptor-filled) Camino

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Someone is sharing right now so I could get it charged up until I find one :)

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
What @Robert526 says applies to albergues, too--there is always the box of orphaned stuff, and there's bound to be an adapter in there. Believe me, you're not the only person who has ever done this! I did the same thing as you in Zubiri, and got another one at the next albergue very easily.

I also found it much easier to use a Spanish (European) plug with a USB outlet. Cheap and light. Mine came with two USB outlets so someone else could share my powerpoint. Very useful in albergues.

Like others have stated, get a Europlug with USB output. This saves on the weight of the adaptor you lost anyway.

When you get a new adapter (hopefully soon), use a piece of duct tape, electrical tape, or medical adhesive tape to securely anchor the adapter to your charger. If you use more than one charger for different devices, I'd suggest getting an adapter for each and taping them to the appropriate charger. Of course, as others have suggested, the best solution is to get a universal European USB charger and not bother with an adapter.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
