Is anyone in Galicia now?

Time of past OR future Camino
Have done as far as Leon so far.
I have done St Jean to Leon and am running out of time before I head back to Australia. So I'm thinking of starting Leon to Santiago and further in the next week or two. I know Galacia can be VERY wet so am wondering if anyone is there now and can advise me on current conditions (knowing it can change quickly). I'm not sure if its too early in the year for this section.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

There are many weather sites like Wunderground, AccuWeather etc. but try this one for different Caminos:

It's much easier to navigate between places on Camino.

The rain fronts door is now open in Galicia (fortunately, because this winter has been very dry) , but I'm afraid nobody knows when it will be closed.

A bit off rain topic but when you have a dry winter I assume it may be warmer as well, that may not be true but with the colder weather seems to be less occurance of the bed bugs. So has it been warmer than usual this winter so far?

No. This winter has been dry in Galicia but not warmer than usual, actually with some very cold days. In Spain it snowed a lot in some Mediterranean regions like Almeria and Alicante where the last time that it snowed was 40 years ago.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Hi, Pelegrín. This is Cathy from US. I will arrive 3/21 in Madrid and heading to Astorga begin to walk for the first time, not decided pant type cargo or thicker
Winter pant. Will layering. Please, respond. Thanks, Cathy K

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Wow! Alex that is even getting too warm for my liking ;). Leaving 20th of March from Carrion de los Condes.
Stay with the nuns in the Espiritu Santo convent in Carrion: Real wooden beds, no bunk beds, separate genders dorms, clean, nice. I always sleep with the nuns when passing by...;):)

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Me too but this time I booked a hostal room because I arrive late.

Cathy, layering is always best. You can always peel layers, but "warm" pants can be tough.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

If I were you I would consult weather forecasts 2 days before your departure. In case of rainy days I would use Winter pants with no doubt.
In case of a sunny days forecast think that you'll have cold hours in the mornings and evenings and warm hours in the middle of the day. So it is a decision based on what you tolerate better cold ot heat.

Thanks for your information.
Today's weather here was chilly, so I tried both layers and winter pant and decided
to take winter pant. The reason I chose to walk in March was, like the cool weather
I perform better, and still readjusting my pack's wt.
Hopefully it'll all go well till my departure.
Thanks again from Cathy.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Hi! Cherie,
Good to hear from you. We're back from TX. 3/4 To Chicago for Hong's dental
work and after that we're going to LBL for hilly training. We walked while we're in Texas, but mostly flat land and sandy beaches on bear foot. hope, that counted as training. Thanks for your info.. You're leaving soon too, hope to see each other
before we all leave.
From Cathy.
