Flying to (and from) which city?

We are hoping to walk the Primitivo in May, flying from Boston, Massachusetts or Hartford, Connecticut, to begin in Oviedo. What are our options? We flew to Madrid and took the train to Leon to walk the San Salvador last September. Should we do that again for a longer train ride to Oviedo or is there a better choice? And do we return to the same city for our return home after reaching Santiago or is there another choice? And lastly, if you can stand it, what are the financial ramifications of these choices if you know them?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
I took the bus from Oviedo to Madrid airport. .so the reverse is possible. I very much enjoyed this trip.
Once you are in Santiago for your return to Madrid I have taken relaxing train ride.
Bus and plane are the other options. Buen Camino

Try www.skyscanner.net
I can find flights with stopover in London Gatwick from Boston to Oviedo (OVD) on May 10th for 310€ and flights with two stops for as low as 248€ in May. Many other options.
From Hartford is approx.triple that price and no 1-stop flights.

I only searched one way flights though.

Asturias airport. Booked a 22 Euro flight from there to Madrid.

Hi, Ritaj,
Surely the most convenient would be to book Boston-Madrid-Asturias (then a 45 minute bus from the airport to downtown Oviedo) and then Santiago-Madrid-Boston. This is called an open jaw or multi-city ticket and it is sometimes very nearly the same price as a Boston-Madrid round trip would be. It's easy to search on the airline websites. You would have to fly American, Iberian, or British Airways to be able to get the best price since they are all in the One World Alliance.

I started doing this years ago and it is so easy to get an early flight in Santiago and land in Madrid in time for a US-bound late morning flight. Saves at least a day and a night in a hotel as opposed to train or bus from Santiago, but I have done that as well and it is also fine.
