OS Albergue in Boente

Time of past OR future Camino
Norte
Warning - this Albergue is ok for 11 euros, but don’t eat the offered dinner for 10 euros. Bad, bad, and bad, or else simply choose the vegetarian option, which looked better. I came off of the Norte-Primitivo today, and perhaps I was spoiled by some of the excellent food and great Albergues on those Caminos.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

well, there is another albergue in Boente, just before this one https://albergueboente.com/ very friendly, clean and they cook too.

If you didn't get food poisoning or sick then...well, you survived. I had my share of less than good food along the way, but I always thought to myself "I'll be somewhere else tomorrow, I wonder what that will bring?".

I don't like to see "albergue bashing" on forums such as this. I mean, short of bed bugs, unsafe structures or downright unkempt and dirty albergues...just move along.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

I second the recommendation for Albergue Boente. It was the only game in town a few years ago, and I am surprised to learn that there are now a couple more. The German-run place up the road also gets very good reviews. https://www.albergueelaleman.com/. (At least I assume it is German-run from its name).

I always recommend to people on the Primitivo that if you want to forestall the Francés madhouse, spend your last night on the Primitivo in Ferreira, next day walk through Melide (where you joing the Francés) (stopping for pulpo of course) and spend the night in Boente. Since it’s mid stage, you will be behind the mobs from Arzua and ahead of those from Melide. And it’s a perfectly doable walk to Arca O Pino or beyond the next day. But when I did that, there was only one albergue in Boente, looks like we may have a mini-crush leaving Boente in the morning now!

And I hesitated for that reason, I am grateful peregrino wherever I go, not a spoiled person with high expectations. Wise words my friend, and will keep them in my mind.
