Hi All,
I am coming to Bilbao airport at 1 pm.
Please help to find how can I get to Roncesvalles. If I understand right buses are not going yet.
Can I rent a car and return it in Pamplona? And get a bus from Pamplona to Roncesvalles. Or there are any solution.

Thanks

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi Valery, the link Tincatinker showed you also shows buses, one by Autobuses la Union and one by Edsa. A few years ago I remember taking the Edsa bus, it was cheap and pleasant (to Pamplona).

All I did was arrive in Bilbao, head to the bus station and buy a ticket to Pamplona. Once in Pamplona I bought a ticket to Roncesvalles (you could probably book both at once but I stayed the night in Pamplona). Simple. If you want to book in advance check the websites of the above companies.

No need to hitchhike, I think hitching that route would be a bit of a nightmare to be honest. It could take days.

Hi, @Valery. I just did a quick post of the R2R link because its about the best resource for multiple route planning. There are two companies providing bus services to Pamplona from Bilbao, both listed on R2R if you click on the options on the left hand side of the screen. However you are unlikely to find a bus to Roncesvalles this time of year. The two companies that do run to Roncesvalles, and one onward to St Jean pied de la Porte, have not published timetables for the winter period that I can find. If you are determined to start your camino from Roncesvalles at this time of year then you will need to hire a taxi from Pamplona. Of course you could just start your camino in Pamplona. There are no rules.

If your plane lands Bilbao at 1:00pm then you have a reasonable chance, after Border Control and catching the airport shuttle to Bilbo Termibus (Bilbao Bus Station) to catch the 3:30 bus run by Autobuses La Union that will get you into Pamplona around 5:30pm. If you miss the 3:30 you will need to spend the night in Bilbao, something I would always be happy to do. A taxi to Roncesvalles will take about 45 minutes and cost iro €50.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Thanks a lot Tincatinker,
I tried to find the bus on site of the company " Autobuses La Union": http://www.autobuseslaunion.com/en/
I can't see Pamplona there. If I am looking wrong?
