I do not offer judgement. I can offer my own story. If something rings true, there is a reason for these words.

In 2017, I walked 1,000 + km in preparation for pilgrimage in 2018. My training took me to my limits and I was confident. But as it turned out, I walked a mere 100 km before I blew out my quads on my left leg. I have not been back and it will be at least another year before I can try again.

Another topic, but definitely related. If you go without health insurance, and need hospitalization, you may be allowed to leave the hospital without paying but they will send a bill a couple of months later.

Hope this helps.

I'll be insured, both with my own health care plan, but also two (one COVID) travel plans. Thank you for your thoughts.

Auwe no ho'i!!!!
I'm so sorry, @Aloha From Kauai.

I hope you're not in too much pain - and that patience is as close at hand as Boogie.

(Your timing is impeccable, so exercise those thighs however you can! You can't walk, but there are options.)
Edit: I found these:

Awesome! I'm going to need all the help I can get!

Well, hell... that sucks! Best wishes for a full recovery. And, if you go slow when you get there I might catch up with you, if I don't suffer the same fate (April 28 - June???). Ha!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Aloha nui loa!
So sorry that you got off to such a rough start. On the other hand, it bodes well for the rest of your Camino - you've already gotten the jinx out of the way. Are you thinking of changing the dates to the fall?

No, if I were to change I'd wait until 2023 as I want to see the wildflowers and the storks in their nests, baby farm animals, etc. I'm planning on going, and I'll just walk real slowly :)

Hi there, how’s your recovery going? Sure hope it’s all plain sailing which will transmogrifiy into stately smooth walking on the Camino. With or without Puss-in-Boots 🤣
