Dear Camino Friends on the Forum

10 days before I get on the plane at Gatwick to fly to Biarritz... am feeling super excited, but also nervous! Questions such as 'will I be be able to finish the Walk?', 'What if I dont make any friends...?' etc etc.... I was initially to fly from Stansted but decided to ditch that ticket and fly a day earlier to explore SJPDP for an extra day, so will get into Biarritz around 1500 hours. I hope the trains are working as hoping to train to St Jean. My pack is packed - spent quite a bit of ££ on my pack and clothing etc.... finally settled on an Osprey Exos 48 rather than my Berghaus as I do get quite sweaty on my several walks over the 2 years I had it. My pack currently weighs 5.5 kg without water. I bought a smarttube for fluids - just loved it! Tried it several times and I think its a great invention.... better than a bladder! I have booked my accomodation up to Formista..... and, after reading the forums, decided not to book anymore as the rush for beds appeared to have eased ... or not?

So.... thanks EVERYONE on this forum for your advice, ideas, videos etc..... have read/watched quite a number of the thousands of threads posted.... so THANK YOU ALL! :):) xx

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Being nervous is normal but when you begin your journey that will go away.
It is hard to make no friends that will be no problem what so ever.
Wish you a wonderful journey and a Buen Camino, Peter.

Yes indeed.... extremely excited to do this walk as had wanted to do it for last few years. I just hope I will be okay and able to finish the walk.

Hey @Jas Asyiken when are you on the Camino? Do say hi when you see me snailing along!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
You will enjoy every step of the way.
As for making friends, it's very hard not to, either when you're walking or in the evenings over a pilgrim meal.
I also had doubts about whether I'd be able to finish the camino, friends at home said that I shouldn't consider it failure if I didn't finish. I did manage to complete the journey in 42 days including 5 rest days. Just take it easy, listen to your body and stop when it tells you.

Buen Camino

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Hey @AcrossTheWater3008 My target is to get on the plane by around mid July. Do you think snail or turtle are faster cos I foresee that I'll be turtling behind you... :D Anyway will say hi for sure if I can utter a sound by then.. Haha!!
