Walking the Camino Sarria to Santiago - 7 days
Hi, this is a wonderful forum. My daughter and I are planning to walk the final stage leaving from Southampton UK to Santiago and then walking from Sarria. I am very much looking forward to it... but wondering if the hostels are all open in January...

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
People walk the Camino at all times during the year, so there will be stuff open. Now how MANY places is debatable... you may not have unlimited choices like during the high traffic summer months, but you'll be able to find places to sleep!

Make sure you bring nice warm clothes and waterproof gear! I hope you have a wonderful time.

In October-November of this year, as the number of pilgrims arriving in Santiago dropped from nearly a thousand per day to several hundred per day, the albergues in small towns were closing. Yesterday, 28 pilgrims arrived. With so few pilgrims traveling, hospitaleros take time for themselves, so you should expect accommodation only in the larger towns, and even then, there may be closings as folks take a few weeks off. Hostales and hoteles are the most likely to be open.

Buen camino!
