Camino Francis (April 2015)
18 April 2015 - El Acebo to Cacabelos -- 32.7 Kms

So I am sitting at a table in a place called Moncloa in Cacabelos -- how I made it this far today is beyond me -- more on that later --

Had a great dinner -- Eggs, French Fries, Chorizo -- and of course the local red wine -- oh - and free music -- a Wedding Party -- this should be interesting --

So this morning - my new bunk mates all got up at 0600 and started packing up for today's march -- I am like -- really?? So laying in my bunk, minding my own business and I look up - the OLD lady in the bunk catty corner to me is getting dressed -- just what I needed to see before breakfast -- skipped breakfast

So all of my new bunk mates have move out - got my stuff in gear -- patched up the feet, packed, etc. and moved out -- entered the main street -- and I am all by myself at 0730 in the AM -- and no Cafes are open for coffee, tea, etc. -- so I just start walking -- to tell you the truth, after yesterday -- I am physically and emotionally exhausted -- but kept walking -- and it is all downhill -- will need new knees after this adventure..

Today my whole body just hurts -- won't go into the details - but may take some foot pictures for you all to enjoy just before a meal -- it was a tough day -- but kept slugging on with the expectation of a hot bath -- yep -- that is what kept me going -- and when I got to Cacabelos and the Moncloa -- I asked my basic questions -- all were yes -- and they gave me a free glass of wine and something funky to eat -- yep -- they had me -- Bath -- soooooooooooo good -- and now -- I am listening to Wedding Music -- Camino Magic -- Got to Love It.

So -- my new favorite city is now Ponferrada -- totally cool - had I not gotten lost in the city (my own fault) it would have rocked as the most coolest place in the world -- had I not gotten lost -- did not pay attention to the markers -- and then asking an old guy ( a really, really nice old guy) where is the Camino route -- well -- it did not go so well - but the nice old guy (and I mean much older than me) escorted me through the city -- I finally mined to him that I was going back to the city center -- he acknowledged -- we exchange hand shakes and I departed from a real Spanish Gentleman -- got to love it -- not even sure he knew I had no clue what he was saying.

Finally got on the right track --

As I stated earlier -- not sure how I got as far as I did today - I really hurt -- but my goal is to meet my wife in Santiago next Saturday -- that means I must go at least 28 kms per day -- that is doable -- will require a lot of tape -- but tape is cheap.

Had Fun -- watching drunk people dance at the wedding party : )
