I am walking with 5 friends from Ourense to Santiago at the end of September. Can anyone tell me where I can find a list of refugios please.
We thought we would need to book accommodation ahead to be sure of getting in somewhere but reading your messages it seems it's not difficult to find places to sleep in September.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
More info here:

http://caminodesantiago.consumer.es/los ... /sanabres/ - albergues and telephone numbers if you want to call and book.

http://www.gronze.com - via de la plata-documentos pdf - Localidades de la VĂa de la Plata (distancias y servicios).

I don´t think you have to book in September but maybe somebody else who knows more can tell you if it is necessary .

Hello Barbara, We walked from Ourense to Santiago during the first week of October last year (2010 - Holy Year). There was absolutely no problem of finding a bed in the albergues. Annie posted a complete list of the facilities. Remember that the route at this point is called the Camino Sanabrés. It was well marked and we only took a printed download of the caminodesantiago.consumer.es guide, because it also describes the various monuments, etc. that you pass by along the way. Anne
