Advice on the camino where to start

I am going to do the Camino Frances next year but I am totally confused as to where I should start and where I fly into from UK. I will have about three weeks, will be doing about 20km a day and would like to end up in Santiago. Can anyone suggest where I start and how I would get there? Thank you

Carrion de los Condes is about 410 km, which is 20 km per day for 21 days. There are two morning buses from Santiago in the summer, and an overnight all year around. There is at least one train daily from Santiago to Sahagun, from which you then can take an afternoon bus to Carrion except Saturday.

Hi Walker.

You could consider the ryanair flight from Stansted to Valladolid or Santiago and head to Leon to start. That would allow you plenty of time if you got any injuries, or just wanted to enjoy the buzz of Santiago at the end. Another possible start would be Sahagun (also reasonably well connected by rail/bus).

It depends how much flex you want to build into your trip. If you arrive in Santiago a few days 'too early' carry on to Finisterre, or get the train up to A Coruna (less than an hour) and walk that leg of the Camino Ingles back to Santiago. Choices, choices!

From there we get transport to Sarria. You can take the Alsa bus to Lugo and a connecting bus to Sarria.
Then we walk for 5 days to Santiago.
