Aldi Sleeping Bag

I have just bought a sleeping bag from Aldi in Cowra. It cost A$20, and weighs 720 grams. It is rated to a comfort level of 7.7 C, and -4.3 extreme. With a silk liner I am thinking it will be enough to keep me warm. I don't need a really warm sleeping bag, as I don't walk outside of April/May June, certainly NEVER in winter - I don't do cold!

I have one too. It's fine in an Albergue with or without a liner. I got used to the mummy bag configeration. I also treated my liner with pemethrin against bed bugs. I used the same bag on the Sultan's Trail inside a bivvy bag and it was definetly not warm enough for outside sleeping even in May. The wind goes straight through it.

Gosh what a bargain!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Cheap gear also gives you the option of donating it to the recycling box at your last albergue. I met an Irish fella who was walking CF in 1 week per year stages and he said he did just that each time he finished a holiday.

I have done 6 + Caminos and always take an Aldi sleeping bag so light and small. As I am only 5'2 I actually cut some of the bottom and sew it up to make it even smaller. Have walked in February and still find them warm enough.Have Just bought another one.
I dump it in Santiago and continue my traveling
