I will be walking the Camino Frances in October/November and am wondering if anyone else will be there at that time or has completed the Camino is the fall and has any tips for me.

Buen Camino!

October/November is a great time to walk with generally golden days and cool nights. Do be aware however that many albergues start to close mid October. For lots of personal commentary regarding walking at this time including a kit list see my Camino Gazetteer blog.

Happy planning and Buen Camino!

As for clothing, you will need to be prepared for basically everything. Snow and cold during nights/in the mountains, rain, but also a good chance of having nice, sunny, warm days. Buen Camino! SY

I will begin Camino Frances from SJPP on 1 October, and spend my first night at Orisson. I hope to see you on Camino! I've had to modify some of my gear, as I initially wanted an earlier summer start, but am planning around a kid's wedding (my darling stepdaughter, who I love to the moon and back). To compensate myself for having to be so accommodating, as I also nixed an early summer start, I am planning for a Spring 2016 Camino as well, but we shall see. In the meantime, October 1 will be --technically- my start.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
My son and I will be departing SJPdP on 3 Nov.

There's a good chance walk is over as it was originally posted in 2015. I could be wrong 🤠

Just "reviving" the thread to see if anyone else (on the forum) is starting in November.
:)

I have been thinking about all of the different times of year to walk, and options. I do love autumn weather. I am intrigued by this thread! Sorry I cannot offer any advice.
