In plan to walk the Camino
Hello,

I am trying to plan my trip for the Camino at the start of October as the flights are very expensive this month. Its my first time doing the camino and would really appreciate some feedback. Also would be interested in meeting a group of people at st Jean pier to begin the journey.

Is October a popular month do go?

Only traveling for 10 days max is that enough time?

Is there a requirement to avail of the Albergues?

Many thanks
Clare

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
Welcome Clare.
1. October should be quieter but there should still be plenty on the Way.
2. Walk as far as you can for the ten days and pick it up again next year, lots of people do it that way.
3. There is no requirement to avail of the albergues, you can stay in five star hotels all the way if you wish.
Wishing you a Buen Camino. Enjoy every step.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Hi Clare, as already stated there is a tread about 2015 October pelgrims.
I wish you a great experience and a Buen Camino, Peter.

Hi Clare I'm also new to the camino and looking at starting from SJPdP in early October (I'd like to start walking 31 sept but could start a day later or so). I am keen to walk with someone to help with safety, route finding etc -have you found people yet? Would you be interested? Would anyone else reading this be interested in starting together?

Also is there another thread where I could post this, to ensure I find someone to walk with?

Finally, if I don't have any fixed plans to walk with someone from SJPDP how likely is it that I could tie up with someone when I get there?

I'm really excited to walk, but would love a bit of reassurance that I won't need to start alone.

Many thanks

Charlotte

See the other thread here for people starting in October. I can assure you, you will not need to start alone as long, and you don't have to make arrangements in advance! Just chat casually with the people around you (and there will be many).
