The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Traditionally today, 15 August, the Feast of the Assumption, is the busiest day for pilgrims registering at the Pilgrims' Office. Will it beat the records of 2,406 last week? We'll see later....the queue is already down the street!

JohnnieWalker - is this all times record per day???

It is time to envisage larger welcome facilities in the future. It looks as if the actual ones are bursting at the seams?o_O
Obviously seasonally conditioned, but with pilgrim arrivals increasing at over 10% each year (there doesn't appear to be a reason as to why the flow should slow down:D), one should cater for the hungry:oops: pilgrims. There's no business like pilgrim business.:p

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
St. Jean will not be jammed in mid-September, so reserve only if you need peace of mind. If you want to stay at the very popular Esprit de Chemin, you should reserve.

Thanks for your reply i will look into it. Im a little nervouse been away from my family so long but this is something i have wanted to do for a. Long time now, not really shure why but i guess im not the only one who feels this way. Thanjs again

While those numbers are a tribute to all those who've walked over the past 1000+ years, let us hope they don't engulf the solitude that many people are searching for.

Does one stay away so as not to engulf those many people which indyinmaine says are searching for solitude? Johnny Walker's figures of over a thousand pilgrims a day are only for those who walks up his office to get a Compostela, it has been estimated that there are as many as three times the people walking the camino do not go upstairs to get the Camino. There are many places for those who search for "solitude" and August on the Camino is certainly not one of them.

NaKwenda,

I did not in any way mean to imply that one would be alone on the Camino. There are many reasons to walk and I'm sure that somewhere, God willing, in the 790 kilometers there will be a moment when I encounter that. As I pass the 3/4 pole in life, I just hope that others respect those moments.

The statistics page lists "Religioso y otros," "Religioso" and "No Religioso." These add up to 100%. What would the difference be between "Religioso," standing by itself, and "Religioso" when included in "Religioso y ostros? They can't be the same or they would not add up to 100% Is the first Catholic and the other non-Catholic and other spiritual?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
The second category allows virtually anyone to get a compostela, and does not include those who do it for entirely religious reasons. If you believe in sunsets or physics, you probably can honestly say you did it for religious and other reasons.

Hahahaha, great, falcon269!!!

Got it. I thought maybe it was a break down between Catholics and other religions, or something like that.

Thanks once again for all your contributions to this forum, Falcon.
