Time of past OR future Camino
2015
Arriving 12:40 8th Sept 2015 into Biarritz and looking at the timetables for the bus/train looks like there is not one until 6.06pm arriving at 7:24pm. Thats a lot later than I wanted. Need to get poles and passport and wanted an early start. When I look at earlier dates in June there are more options before that time. It does not seem consistent.
Can anyone shed any light on this. If not is a taxi the only other option to get there earlier.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
You are correct that definitely is the current printed schedule. In Bayonne you can go to the cathedral and get a credential, their hours are variable but they should be open for some period of time between noon and 18h. There is very good outfitting shop between the cathedral and the marche, can't tell you exactly what street it's on but it won't be hard to find, they have poles and all kinds of other hiking and camping gear.
Take a nice relaxing lunch at one of the many wonderful restaurants along the Nive and enjoy your afternoon in our Basque sunshine.

I used the transports64 bus (www.transports64.fr) from Biarritz airport to Hendaye for the Camino del Norte

Check nearer the date when the timetable for September is definite but a quicker way is bus 811 from Bayonne SNCF at 1.10pm to Saint Palais, Eglise at 2.15pm; then bus 810 from Saint Palais at 3.25pm to SJPP at 16.00 - hand baggage only and a taxi from the airport to Bayonne SNCF should do the trick

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

You're right. Thats a significant change to the schedule.

It may change again. Try closer (within one month) of date of travel.

Otherwise your only other options are:

Transports 64 as described by spursfan, but I don't think you have time to catch.

Or, PESA bus to San Sebastian, and ALSA bus from San Sebastian to SJPdP via Pamplona ... which gets you there 1915 ... no real advantage.

Or, Express Bouricott, a private hire taxi.

I would suggest getting poles and credencial (which can be obtained from Ivar ... see tab at the top of this page) before you travel.

Thanks for the replies. But got it sorted now. Taking a taxi with Express Bourricot quoted 27 Euro, so I am presuming 3 others (based on their price list) so there is plenty of room for more if any on wants.
Also think I will be taking my poles with me, since on a couple of occasions will be flying Ryan Air and my pack will be too big to take onboard (Osprey Exos 48l)

Good suggestion, like it, but taking a taxi now as indicated in a later reply.
