Camino Frances (August-October 2018)
My husband and I need transportation from Biarritz airport to St Jean on August 29. Express Bourricot was my first choice but they are not available. Plan B is bus to Bayonne Marie, walk to train station then train to St. Jean Pied de Port. Looking at the 12:01 train - do I need to purchase tickets in advance? Or can we purchase when we get there?

LOVE this forum by the way....

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

You need not purchase the TER ligne 62 tickets in advance.
There are NO reserved seats; seating is open as on a tram or metro. SJPdP is the last stop; journey time roughly 1 1/2 hours. The TER train also transports bikes.

. See more iinfo in www.OUI.SNCF.

Bon voyage and Buen camino!

I usually buy tickets online in advance, just in case I'm tight for time at the railway station. They are emailed to you and you can store them on your smartphone or just print it off. However, as mspath points out, you can't reserve a seat.
Don't forget the automatic discount if you're over 60.
