Dear all,

I am a Catholic from Hong Kong and am planning to do the 100km hike fom Sarria to Santiago de Compostela on the Camino de Santiago in October 2012.

Any people who had done the 100km hike fom Sarria to Santiago de Compostela on the Camino de Santiago in October (around 2nd week of October) can share your valuable experience? What was the weather like, particularly did it rain a lot?

Many thanks for your kind reply.

Yours,
Rickie

It rained on 7 of 31 days last October (in Santiago; 8 days of rain in Lugo near Sarria). The average daily temperature was between 48 and 76 with the highest being 87 and the lowest 39.

October is very pleasant. The crowds have diminished by then, but everything is still open. Have a fun time, and buen camino.

Hi Rickie,
I will be leaving Ponferrada on the 2nd of October on my Camino - hopefully we will meet along the way to Santiago!
Looks like we'll need to pack some rain gear.
Buen Camino,
Aine

Hi mpschaf,

My husband, John, and I and a friend (also named John) will be leaving from Leon, probably on Oct 3. I expect we'll be slow. You'll probably pass us on your first or second day. We are planning to walk 8-10 miles a day. Oops, I mean 12-16 km per day.

Re: Camino de Santiago in October 2012

Hello Rickie, it depends when you will arrive: early or late October. The later = the more chance on rain.
Gato is cat in Spanish. Could be original: El Camino de Satigato. If you want to correct the title, edit your first post and do the correction in the title.
Greetings
