Hi Robbie, a friend and I are considering starting the Camino Frances end of August. I have walked the Camino frances previously in May and June and am wondering what the weather is like in September?

As I understand it, August is one of the most popular months so you won't be alone - 'cause I'll be there as well!
I'm arriving in SJPdP Friday the 10th and will hopefully get myself to Santiago within a month or so...

Yes July and August is warm and drier than the other months. That can have its advantages, though. You can carry way less equipment. No need for a sleeping bag. The only rain gear needed is a lightweight poncho. You can wear shorts everyday, and a single layer shirt/top. All in all you can easily walk with a pack that weighs 5-6 kilos.
Just make sure you wear a hat, sunscreen and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
I would not say it is a harder time to walk the Frances.
