2008 Camino

2008 is just around the corner!
In 2005 the pilgrim office gave compostelas to 10 pilgrims from Iceland. Perhaps you could make contact with some of them?
Enjoy your planning.

Big shout out to Iceland! I had a wonderful week their this summer.

At least you have excellent places to go for your training hikes.

My only regret about visiting is that I want to return so badly. Perhaps I'll make a stopover on my way to Santiago (and one on my way back).

HI Terra,
I don't know if you are still planning to walk in 2008 and what month.
My wife Janet and I walked from Leon to Santiago in july/aug2006 averaging 25km daily - basically we took 14days. Because it was hot at that time, we started our daily walk at 6am (woke up at 5am) and stopped for something to eat after about 2 hours of walking. We usually aimed to stop daily at about 1-2pm which gave us time to wash our clothes, rest. eat and meet with other pilgrims. At 6am we needed a flashlight for about one hour when the sun rose. It was really a fabulous feeling to see the sun rising, expecially in the mountains.

Hope it helps
Buen camino
