Camino Ingles numbers increasing this year?

A Ferrol news website has reported on the marked increase in numbers who have walked the Camino Ingles so far this year compared with 2022. Much in line with the general trend of the pilgrim office figures for all routes. One part of the article caught my eye in particular - a suggestion that about 30% of those who walk the Camino Ingles do not request a Compostela and so actual numbers may be significantly larger than reported. A growing trend? I no longer ask for one after my own Caminos but I would be surprised to learn that as many as 30% do not.

I will be walking this Camino starting May 10, and since I already have 4 Compostelas I am not planning on requesting another one.
