Can I pick up a "Passport" in Santiago?

Time of past OR future Camino
Camino Frances (Sept 2012)
Santiago to Finisterre & Muxia (Sept 2014)
Porto to Santigo (Sept 2015)
The Meseta (hopefully April 2016)
I walked from St Jean to Santiago in 2012 and will be meeting up with the old camino "family" in the city later this month so that we can all walk together to Finisterre and Muxia. But I won't have a current passport with stamps for the albergues which lie ahead.

Will I be able to acquire one in Santiago? And will I still be regarded as a valid pilgrim two years on?

Any advice appreciated. Thank you

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Nancy, Everything I have read and understand about the Camino is that it's not time dependent. You can d0 it in stages. The important thing is that you walk the last 100 km. You can do it in one day (I'd like to see that), one week, or more...it's just important that you complete the last 100km by foot, by bicycle, or horse/mule. Should it be by mule...that could take a year all by itself.
So, to answer your question: yes, get your passport in Santiago.

Nancy, you can pick up a Credencial from the Galicia Tourist Office on the Rua Villar, just down from the Pilgrims' Office. They will also provide a useful data sheet on the Albergues and other facilities along the route.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Nancy, you can also get your credential from the Pilgrim Office itself. But don't join the line of people waiting to get their Compostela, just go to the door into the Office and tell the Amigo or Security people "credential solo" and they will look after you.
Enjoy your walk!

This office is specially geared for the walk between Santiago and Finisterre and Murxia. In my opinion, the better bet, as they have not only the special credential, but also the information sheet.
If you go to the Pilgrims office, they will supply you with the normal credential......and besides, should there be a large line of pilgrims waiting to get their Compostella, someone still has to stop attending them to attend you! Anne
