Is it enough to call Casa Fernanda the day before or better earlier? BC SY

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I stayed there early October last year, there was only 7 of us in albergue that night......heard the previous night it was full! Depends how many pilgrims on the way when you are walking......you may get an idea of numbers on the previous stages before Fernanda's and then go with your feeling when to call. I wish you the pleasure to stay there......Fernanda is a great person!
Bon Caminho

Hi!
I stayed in Fernanda's in early May, having heard and read so many good reports. I think I phoned two days ahead, something I don't usually do, and she happily kept me a bed. A few people arrived when I was there and were disappointed to be turned away. It's a popular place - phone a few days ahead if you can....

NO, NO, NO! You must book early, as early as possible.

Casa Fernanda has become so popular on this route that she sometimes fills up months ahead of time. You would have to experience Fernanda's hospitality to understand...

I hope this helps.

Hello Sy,

It appears after all that i am unable to defeat my Camino obsession! I was looking up the address of Casa Fernanda so that I might send them a Christmas card and lo and behold the only place I could find a full mailing address was on an old post by Albertinho. So one thing lead to another and here I am back in the forum.

As strange as this may sound I booked about 6 months in advance for my daughter and my last stay in June of this year. I would have changed my schedule if the bed hadn't been available. Thats how much the albergue means to me.

Cheers
Jim
