Hi, I am from Australia, my husband & I plan to commence our walk from SJPP on May 1, 2015.
We will be flying into Barcelona on April 29, arriving at 1.40pm. Could I ask for any information on the best way to reach Saint Jean Pied-de-Port from there. Will we need to book some place overnight before we reach SJPP. Thank you for any help we receive.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

TinaM,

Welcome to the Forum!
For recent posts regarding travel from Barcelona to SJPdP see this earlier 2015 Forum thread.
Various train/bus options are described in the thread via Toulouse, Irun or Pamplona.
Happy planning and Buen camino,

Hello Tina, Ron and I start from SJPDP 26th April. We are travelling to SJPDP from Bordeaux so not much help with your travel from Barcelona. Not sure if our paths will cross. We are from a Queensland. I wish you well.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Hi TinaM,

I hope you have found help with transportation on the forum. I will be starting my walk from SJPdP on May 1, and I am spending the night of 30 April there. I am coming from Paris via Biarritz. Perhaps our paths will cross as we climb the mountain!

Hello Leanne & Ron, lovely to hear that we may come across a few other Aussies on our Camino. I am starting to get a little worried about our plans as I think I should have booked our first few nights accommodation, but I don't know where to start. Think I will look into a few more of the posts in this forum & get more organised. As the date draws nearer I am very excited, a bit apprahensive & a little scared of taking on such a hugh journey. We are fortunate that we live opposite a National Park with some lovely coastal tracks.....very good for preparing, but......

Looking back, I realize I am not sure how I got the reservation--maybe through Booking.com, although the reservation confirmation email was sent by "Novaresa." I am staying at Gita Ultreia, and I think they have a website. They also sent a personal email confirmation.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
