Are there any suggestions or courtesies pertaining to leaving fruit rinds or cores, peels on the Camino?
I saw a many on the Camino routes and it seems intuitive that they would be organic can be good for the soil but truly it takes years for some of these to break down.

:) Peels, cores, and rinds are considered by "Leave No Trace" backpackers to b the same as any other trash. Pack it in, pack it out.

As you said, it will eventually break down into the soil; but like toilet paper or paper wrappers it will sit for a long time. So pack those peels out and dispose of them in a recycling bin for organics if available, or a regular trash bin if not. :D👍

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Do you scatter fruit peel across your garden/yard and let it rot? In a compost bin (ie ideal conditions) banana and citrus peel can take 5 - 6 weeks (UK conditions) and apple cores two months.
Your call.

As already said it takes too long to decompose and while the process takes its time it will look like rubbish. Not nice to see.
We do that at our house but it is buried under layers and layers of other organic waste like cut grass, branches etc. and in one year time it eventually decompose. But not in the open air. At least not that easy and fast as in the compost pile.
