Hotel in Leon?

My friend is flying into Madrid to join me on the Camino at Leon. Does anyone have any suggestions for a place to meet/stay? I imagine she will need to sleep a little to adjust to the time change from the NW US. We will walk the last two weeks together so it's important she 'get off on the right foot'.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Sheila, I'm also meeting a friend in Leon. The train from Madrid has her arriving after 9pm so I thought the safest thing to do was to reserve a hotel. If you look on Trip Adviser you find around 35 hotels in Leon ranging from around 25 euros to 150. We opted for the Hotel Paris it is fairly near the train station.

Hi, Sheila

I've stayed at Hostal Guzmán el Bueno twice and I loved it. Your experience may vary, but I found it to be comfortable, clean, affordable, and everyone I spoke to there was helpful and friendly. I noticed a couple of people mentioned it over on the other thread but thought I'd add it here too. Buen Camino!

Laurie, thanks for the link...I remembered I responded to a similar thread not too long ago :)

Sheila, below is my response from the same thread that Laurie mentioned. I absolutely loved Leon-- taking it easy and enjoying the city would be such a great way to start the Camino! Hotel Paris is not the cheapest in town, but I felt it was a very nice treat after many days in albergues :)

I loved Hotel Paris. I liked Leon so much that I ended up staying for 3 days and it was a great treat. They took great care of us, the location is terrific, and it was nice to enjoy the spa and relax a little. If you travel by yourself, you can pair up with a fellow pilgrim or two (which is what I did) to lower the cost. And, if you're lucky, you might see the cathedral from your window.

Thanks Everyone!. My friend and I went with the Regia; they had the room arrangements we needed. All of your suggestions were read with enthusiastic interest. Based on your collective remarks, we're staying an extra day in Leon!
I leave next Tuesday....I'm very excited.
Thanks for all your advice.
Sheila
