How to get from Triacastela to Sarria? Is there public transportation?

Hi,

We want to skip the route from Triascastela to Sarria and instead take a bus/train from Triacastela to Sarria. This will be in June. Does anyone know if there's a bus or a train? If yes, could you send me the link or something? We don't really want to take a taxi, but I couldn't find any public transportation when I looked online.

Thank you

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hi traveladdict1! Welcome to the forum!

Take a look at www.monbus.es for buses from Triacastela to Sarria. They have one bus from Triacastela to Sarria daily except Sundays.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Triacastela is a quite isolated city. Alternatively, you can walk from O Cebreiro (end of previous stage) to Piedrafita do Cebreiro (just 3,6 km). There, you can take the ALSA bus to Lugo, and a bus connection to Sarriá. It is quite a detour, but not long in bus.
Or just walk from Triacastela to Samos (which is better connected), and then a taxi to Sarriá.

Last year my wife and I stopped in Triacastela and are going to finish next year. We found getting a taxi out was easy. Cost about 1 euro per km.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
No buses on Sunday, so, as others said, the easiest way is to get a taxi.
There is a large restaurant/bakery/bar with a pilgrim on the front on the main road. The taxis normally stop there. If there isn't any, ask oinside and they will help you find one.

This might be too late. The Mon Bus leaves Triacastelo at 7am. It passes through Samos to Sarria. Only one bus a day. The direct walk to Sarria is beautiful. A night in Samos is also recommended.

I took a taxi from Triacastela to Sarria - en route to the hospital at Lugo where my daughter had her arm set in a cast. She had broken it at O'Cebreiro (and because we didn't realise, we walked on to Triacastela)

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Yes, there is a daily bus that passes Triacastela at 7am - but not on Sunday. If it is a Sunday then I suggest contacting the baggage forwarding companies beforehand and see if you can hitch a ride. Otherwise it is a taxi. Although why anyone would want to skip this walk I don't know.

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
What @Kanga says, also the walk from Triacastela towards Samos/Sarria is one of the most beautiful ones I have ever walked imo. Buen Camino, SY
