Hello all.

I will be arriving in Saint-Jean on sometime in the morning of April 10th. I might leave the next day or I might just be ready to get going that morning. If anyone else wants to do the first part of the trek with me to Roncesvalles, that would be wonderful...

otherwise happy walking to all

Hi Glori,

Once you have arrived in St Jean you coul make your way to the pilgrim office at Rue de la Citadelle - even if you already have a credential it would be nice to get your stamp there and register with them (they keep stats of pilgrims walking through St Jean). You will find other nervous peregrinos there starting off on their own so you won't be alone. If the weather is dangerous they will advise you on whether or not to continue from there. The pass was closed last week and although it might be open on the 10th, melting snow and unpredictable weather could make it a more arduous and time consuming haul than usual.
The guide books advise pilgrims not to start out later than 10am if they intend walking to Roncesvalles.
Be safe, keep warm and buen camino!
