Info and accommodation on Camino

hi friends. I am doing my Camino in 3 weeks, starting on the 14th of August, from St Jean Pied de Port. Can any of you who already did it can tell where shall I go in St Jean Pied de Port to receive my pilgrims pass and maybe get some map etc?
Will it be difficult to find some accommodations during the period 14th of August-end of September? Ivar as far as I understood you are on Camino now? Are they many pilgrims?
Hugs Magdalena

Hi Magdelena. I'm surprised you haven't had a few replies from the old hands yet. Like you I'm new to this. I start on the 5th of sep. You will get all the info you need in the FAQ on this website. There's threads going off in every direction on every topic. You just have to take the time to follow them. hope you get what you need, and Buen Camino.....Jimmy C.

First of all the timing of your Camino is during the high point of vacation time in Europe; you will see a lot of other pilgrims on the Way. SJPP is a small village and you will have no problem finding the Pilgrim's office. This is also a town worth walking about and getting to know. You will meet many pilgrims and this may begin some excellent relationships along the way.

Make sure you review the FAQ section as well as the Camino Frances section. You will find a wealth of answers as well as helpful information you have not even thought of yet.Accommodationsions can be problematic for those who walk late in the afternoon. This topic has been discussed many, many times. Some tips: try not to walk the proscribed etapes (you will not be walking the same daily distances as others and thus have access to more beds), walk until you are tired and then stop, review the albergues most sought prized and ignore (be picky here; some you really want to visit, don't make this an absolute rule).

Last, don't worry about. We respond to the call of the Camino and she provides. Be open to others, this is not a time to focus solely on one's own needs, help the Hospitaleros out. You will find yourself quickest by serving others.

Buen Camino

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
