2007 Camino

Hi Adele,
There is an Australian 'page' at the Confraternity of St James website that might prove useful. You can find it here:

Hi Adele,

Here are a few links that might help on your questions.

Regarding the weather:

Regarding shoes and equipment in general, have a look at the equipment section of this forum here:

You do not need to register to walk the camino, but you need a pilgrim’s passport if you want to stay in albergues and get the diploma at the end. You will find a lot of useful information here:

I hope this helps, let us know if/when you have more questions.

Welcome to the forum!
Un saludo,
Ivar

Hi Adele! How's Australia? I'm planning to go on my Camino in May 2007. As for shoes, I've gotten New Balance 976 women's hiking shoes, as suggested by Dawn here on this site. I don't know if they're available in Australia, though, but you could try Ebay or Zappos.com. That's where I got mine. :)

Buen Camino!

Hello, if you are in Sydney there is a group of "have done and will do" that meets every second month for lunch in the Spanish Quarter. It's a great get-together and a wonderful way to talk it over and ask questions. The next will be December 2. If you would like the details email me. There are also pilgrims in all of the other capital cities in Australia. If you come from one of these areas I could give you the email address for the contac t person here.
Best Regards
Magnara (from Sydney)
