Is a 4G phone enough in Spain?

I have both a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S 4G LTE phone and a Samsung S13 5G phone. Both are unlocked. I prefer the 4G phone because it accommodates 2 SIMs. Is there any problem using a 4G phone in Spain?

No, not a problem. My 4G phone worked great last June.

All 5G phones do 4G and 2G (that's how they "log in"), and almost all still do 3G as well, even though the 3G networks in the USA no longer operate. I am not aware of anywhere that has shut down 4G. At this time, there isn't anywhere that you have to have 5G for a phone to work. 5G is just an option for higher data performance.

I'm a bit confused. The Samsung S13 specs I see say that it also has dual SIM.
Unfortunately I recently bought it at an ATT store. They sold it to me locked. They told me it took 2 SIMS, but only one slot was available. My Mexican Telcel SIM doesn't even work in the available slot. Getting it unlocked as I write.

No.

Can you name a country where you believe you ‘need’ a 5G ‘phone and a 4G would not function? It’s a genuine question as I simply cannot believe anywhere considers 4G to be obsolete . In many parts of the UK we chug along with 3G, or post letters.

Normally, when no 5G is available, the mobile reverts to 4G, even to 3G and to 2G if there is nothing else. From a practical point of view for a normal mobile, there is no significant difference in performance, as far as I am aware. This said, the 4 G network is significantly more available than 5G in Spain at the moment.

Thanks for the info

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
