Hello,
Can you please help with the following itinerary:
We are waking from Sarria To Santiago.
Arriving to Santiago late on November 11. Staying overnight in Santiago.
Planning to take a bus first thing in the morning on November 17th.
Did I find it correctly that there are two bus companies that are running from Santiago to Lugo: ALSA bus and Bus Empres Freire?
Is one more convenient than other?
The first bus ALSA Bus is leaving at 5:45 arriving to Lugo 7:50.
Monobus from Lugo to Sarria leaves at 10:35.
My concern is that there is a long stopover between two buses. We could be walking all this time. Should we take a taxi? How much would it cost (Lugo-Sarria)?
I found on the forum post by miamijhp , where he shows a bus schedule for Lugo- Sarria at 8:30. I am not sure if I cannot find this scheduled bus on the bus website or whether his post is outdated. Can you help please?
Also, I found schedule for Bus Empres Freire, the leaves Santiago at 7:00 and arriving to Lugo at 9:00. In this instance there is a shorter waiting time for Monobus to Sarria. Any suggestion?
Thank you for your help.
Elena

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Elena:

You might even be able to walk from Lugo to Santiago and get a certificate. Lugo is on the Primitivo and intersects the Frances at Melide. Someone like Johnny walker would know if that qualifies for sure.

I think the ALSA buses go to A Coruna, then Lugo, so the travel time is a bit longer. The fare may be higher as well. You seem to have the correct departure times, so I cannot add anything there.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
The distance From Lugo to Sarria is about 33Km and takes about 20 minutes so It shouldn't be too expensive by taxi. There will be lots of pilgrims on the bus so you could organise a few to share, the taxi will take four persons.
Buen Camino.

We met a German couple this year who had walked from Lugo and as far as I know they got their compostella.

Thank you for the input. If I understood correctly, Empres Freire Bus to Lugo is our best bet. We set our mind on Sarria. Probably will take a taxi from Lugo.
Thank you again.
