Two weeks from today, my wife and I will depart from Seville Spain to walk the Via de la Plata to Santiago. It is a distance of just under 1,000 km. Once there we plan to continue out the coast to Muxia and Finisterre. This will be my sixth long distance pilgrimage and my wife's fifth.

Along the way I plan to document our progress, posting on this forum, and at our blog Little Green Tracs, and occasionally at our Facebook page - all of this assuming I am able to suitable internet access when desired.

Wish us well

Hi, jirit,
Wishing you a wonderful Camino. I'm really looking forward to reading your blog and seeing your photos. And here are some strong hopes for a Vdlp without too many of those torrential downpours that filled the days of other recent pilgrims on the Vdlp. Buen camino, Laurie

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Buen Camino! You will love the VDLP, especially the spring wildflowers.

Burn Camino to both of you. Looking forward to seeing your excellent photos! Anne

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
We are off to a somewhat slow start, after arriving in Seville Friday afternoon. Our original plans were to leave Monday and walk north out of Seville. However my wife has developed a knee problem that she would like somebody to look at before we leave. She is clearly unable to walk much more than a few kilometers each day, even walking around the old part of Seville is too much.

Problem it seems is finding an English speaking doctor in Seville. Seems they are a rare beast but we have managed to locate we hope one in Triana, and we have made an appointment for Wednesday morning.

Given the trail conditions and my wife's knee issue we have decided to bus up to Monesterio to start our walk from there. For now it looks like I will be walking while my wife will bus ahead each few days to join me. Hopefully by the time we reach Salamanca things have sorted themselves out.

I have posted a few photos on our blog and Facebook page.

I am playing catch up with some posting. Over the next couple of days, I plan to post about my impressions of first half of traveling the Via de la Plata. Some of the topics will include albergues, local transportation, food and people.

We are one day from reaching Santiago. Once there I will hopefully find some time to summarize my thoughts about the Via de la Plata.

In the meantime you are welcome to check out our blog and Facebook entries on Little Green Tracs.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
