Looking for a long-term involvement in an albergue on the Ca

As I approach retirement I am looking for a serious long-term involvement in an albergue on the Camino Francés. I am hoping that this forum might be visited either by people already owning or running albergies on the Camino or by pilgrims who might be kind enough to pass on any news they might come accross. As a start I am attending next month a course for Hospitaleros and am quite happy to volunteer my time in the meanwhile to helping out at existing albergues. I have completed the Camino once from SJPP to Santiago and have repeated parts of it over the past few years. I am happy to invest time and money in the right opportunity. I am not looking for wealth out of this, just a modest living and some fulfillment. I do realise that this is not a typical post on this forum but nevertheless hope that something might come of it. Otherwise 'Buen Camino' to everybody.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Perhaps the best person on this forum to ask about this topic is Rebecca Scot, here the link to her profile: member271.html

Hope that helps, SY

Hi LT,

I saw your reply to Amerigrino.

I am presently living in Viana where I have moved temporarily to try to progress my idea. I am very open to discussing all aspects of this with anyone else and to help or be helped wherever possible. I have also done a lot of research although at the end of the day the right factors have to fall into place.

I sort of favour the Camino Francés for the moment as although I said in my original post that I am not looking for riches out of this I still wouldn't like to lose the farm on it and the Francés has the numbers.

Anyway it would be great to talk further. My email is dcl120748 at gmail.com.

Cheers,

Hi Derek,

Definately interested and will contact you by e-mail. I have also had correspondence with Amerigrino and will fill you in.

Enjoy Viana, it is one of my favorite towns. My stay at the Albergue Parroquial played a pivital role in my becoming a hospitalera and was the beginning of my love affair with the Camino.

As you are in Viana - stop by the Albergue Parroquial (up the narrow steps beside the church) and say hello to Nela for me, a member of the Forum and current hospitalera. We met in December in Spain at a reunion of hospitaleros.

Un abrazo pelegrino,
LT

Hi Lee,

Sorry, I replied to your email before actually reading your post. I will of course call in on Nela and pass on your regards. I also have always had a thing for Viana.

Abrazos,
Derek
