My packing list ideas after finishing the Camino

Hi guys, :)

I did the camino frances this spring and decided to share my personal ideas when it comes to the things you need on the Camino (packing list).

I wrote an article about my packing list in order to help new pilgrims decide what to take with them on their journey . I know that we all have different opinions (more or less) when it comes to the things we have to carry with us, but I consider that the things I took with me were perfect for MY journey...

So maybe some of you, whom might want to do the camino as well, can find some inspiration in this article . http://scheiss-egal.net/2015/10/26/camino-de-santiago-packing-list/
If u have any other ideas to improve the list( content, new ideas, language), just let me know.

"Help yourself by helping others to help themselves" ( just a quote I saw on the Camino) :)

Buen camino to the ones who plan leaving soon.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Sore, any chance you could copy your list here so folks don't have to leave this forum to read it? Thanks.

Excellent list. Especially liked the advice regarding pale clothing.
As I type this I am wearing a white Tshirt bought for the Camino and it came back stained. It now only gets worn for gardening and housework.

Bobbypins for hanging laudry? Never heard of it before, I am partial to safety pins.

Also, big yes to toilettery back with a hook. Have been using now for 4 Caminos and love having it handy hanging from a bunk bar.

Good list!
I must be in the minority I added stuff I found along the way. People would leave some very good equipment on the side of the trail especially going up hill. Good thing I had a 48l pack.

Good list very helpful! Mine gear was the same as yours in weight and most items, My clothes were very different as I sunburn easily I always wear light color, light weight long hiking pants and long sleeve shirts, carry one sets, wear one set, hat and sun gloves, Im never uncomfortable and most important to me is I don't have to suffer from sun burn. We're looking forward to our return to the Camino this fall, :)

Thanks. My wife and I plan to do the Camino in the fall. We hiked the AT last year so we agree about the importanc of extra sizing for the shoes.

What about sleeping pads? We used self inflating pads on the AT, but we were thinking of the foam pads. Are the necessary?

Very good. I particularly like the tip to photograph maps with one's smartphone.

No you don't. You'll be sleeping in bunks with mattresses.
