Naturists on a hike in aid of Oxfam were told to cover up by a police community support officer as they strode through central London. Mark Stephenson, 32 and Fiona Lincoln, 26, from Strood in Kent, had set off from the Thames Barrier on their walk to Birmingham when asked to cover up.

The pair want to encourage people to donate old walking gear and raise awareness of Oxfam's clothes appeal. A spokesman for the pair said they were making "great strides" so far.

Their brush with the law happened in central London, when the PCSO asked them to cover their bottom halves. "They were asked to wear something on their bottom halves to cover their modesty, which they were happy to do. They don't want to cause anyone offence," their spokesman said.

"They covered around 40 miles yesterday, and hope to do around 35 to 40 a day, so they are making great strides so far." The couple, wearing only socks and hiking boots and carrying rucksacks, hope to arrive in Birmingham by the weekend.
Oxfam's Clothes for a Cause appeal donates unwanted walking equipment to aid projects abroad.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Now there's a thought! Think how light your pack would be if you only had to worry about socks! And I guess a sleeping bag ....

And here's a picture... imagine those two pilgrims arriving in the Praza de Obradorio.. do you suppose they'd get their own pew at the Pilgrim's Mass???????
Buen Camino!
