Leon-Santiago (2004) Roncesvalles-Leon (2006) Camino Frances (2012) Kumano Kodo-Japan (2014) Camino Sanabres/Salamanca-Santiago (March 2015) Camino Del Salvador and Camino Primativo (Oct 2015)
I found myself with a month open in March and decided to head to the camino. I had two weeks to plan and pack (I leave next Wednesday). I pulled out all of my camino gear and started packing this morning. I am currently at 7.6 Kilos (weighed all items and pack). I would like to reduce my pack weight a bit more. I have a lot of winter clothes (layers/merino wool) from my last camino in January-February 2012. The weather forecast for the first few days in Salamanca/Zamora is 35F/ 1C at 7:00 am and 63F/ 17C at 4:00 pm (I don't know if this is typical). The temperature is about 10 degrees warmer in Galicia. My packing list includes rain gear (jacket/pants), fleece jacket, gloves (with rain cover), fleece hat, 2 hiking pants, 2 shirts, underwear, wool socks/liner socks, buff and light weight fleece pants for evening. I also have two sets of long johns (one light weight, one merino wool). I am concerned that I am remembering the cold winter weather in 2012 and may be over-packing. On the other hand, I worry that if I leave out the hiking shirts I will not have them if the weather warms up suddenly. Has anyone walked the Salamanca-Camino Sanabres route in March? I would appreciate any information on the weather you experienced or feedback on the appropriateness of my clothing choices. Any other advice or helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi Laura,
Your packing list sounds good to me! To be really picky I could say just one set of long johns, the merino ones but it's unlikely to make much difference.
I don't know what the weather will be like in the next few weeks but you seem well equipped for all eventualities.
Buen camino!
