New albergue in Palas de Rei

So a new albergue has popped up in Palas de Rei - Albergue Zendoira.
It looks fairly original to say the least. It got a bit of a write up in La Voz de Galicia

Their is simular albergue in Pamplona Casaiborola i think is the name excellent if a bit cramped.
Tough getting in and out of capsules. Bottom capsule very close to ground. Otherwise very good.

Some of the places with partitioned bunks offer similar advantage - like the one at Albergue La Finca, as you walk into Población.

The private albergue in Porrino has the same kind of set up, with curtains, though not as perfectly copied from Kurukawa. In Finisterra the new albergue built in an old garage at the entrance of town when you come in from the beach also has this type of cubes whith partitions at nead and foot of the bed, but no curtains.

I stayed at Casa Ibarrola in Pamplona. I really liked the privacy of the "pod" beds. Another bonus (especially on a 35c day) was that they had air conditioning!

I stayed there, too when I was in Pamplona. I liked those pods as well. You were able to shut out the outside world for a bit and sleep. Another bonus was the pass-code to get in and no curfew. Cool Hospitalero too.

Looking at the pictures of this new place it looks like they have placed the ladders for getting into the upper bunks in a better position than those at Casa Ibarrola.

According to the linked article the price is 10 euros: "En estas singulares literas se puede pasar una noche por 10 euros, "

In Santiago the private albergue, The Last Stamp (El Ultimo Sello) has bunks similar to those pods, too.
They don't have a curfew either. There is a hospitalero there at the desk 24/7.

I stayed in Zendoira in September, it was listed on booking dot com. Nice roomy bunks with lighting and shelving for your stuff. Open common area. Decent facilities (kitchen, bath, coin op laundry). It's off the camino, but not terribly so. There's a bar next door with OK food and a super mercado a short walk away. It felt like a hotel rather than an albergue.
