Great news, Ivar. In June, I stayed in a very nice pension in Castroverde and learned that the albergue building was ready to go but there was no money for furniture. Looks like the Xunta found some.

Castroverde is a good place to stop if you want a short day into Lugo the next day. If you're not planning to spend a rest day in Lugo, arriving in late morning gives you time to see the town, which is very nice, Roman walls and all!

Either way, you will have a long day to deal with. Fonsagrada/Padron (the only realistic stop the day before) is 27 from Cadavo and 35 from Castroverde. That means that your day into Lugo can be either 32 from Cadavo or 24 from Castroverde.

I read on a post recently that our very own falcon will soon be on the Primitivo, maybe he'll give us some first hand info on this albergue.

Today in Castroverde. Surprisingly the Xunta Albergue is closed. We met at the door a lady who only said, it's completely closed. The Casa do Concello was closed too. So, we don't know if the national Feria ( Los Santos) is the reason. Hope somebody can get opportunity to ask Xunta Galicia on behalf of other pilgrims how long it' s closed. Gronze.com tells simply, open todo el ano????
Lucily we found a very pleasant accomodation here. It' s Hostal Cortes and the Lovely Lady of the House prepared us one of the best Menu ever on this Camino Primitivo ( 9€/person) .
Surprises in two ways. This is just, what Camino is on its best.

We are arriving in Madrid on May 5th. I went online today to purchase train tickets to Oviedo and it doesn't show any train service. Does that mean the trains are sold out? Or maybe some other...
Hi, has anyone walked the Primitivo in mid-October? What was it like? Weather, tracks and accommodation? I plan to walk from Oviedo to Lugo only, then bus to Santiago after. Thanks for your input.
